X-DiPLAS

This project, based at the National Museum of Ethnology, digitizes and systematically organizes photographs, videos, and audio recordings of world regions accumulated by Japanese universities and research institutions. Developed in collaboration with the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL) and the National Institute of Informatics (NII), it provides a cross-searchable database of these valuable academic resources to ensure long-term preservation and improved accessibility. Furthermore, it aims to share open materials internationally, contributing to the return of academic results and the promotion of open science.
